MSC promises to find every spilled box in the North Sea

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has let it be know it intends to pay for the full costs of the clean-up the Jan 2 MSC Zoe container spill, which saw some 270 boxes fall off the giant boxship in waters between Germany and the Netherlands. Dutch politicians have warned of an environmental catastrophe from the accident, with a number of boxes containning toxic substances. In a release issued on Saturday, MSC also vowed to pick up every box that had fallen off the ship, which is now under investigation in Bremerhaven. “MSC will also ensure that the beaches of the Dutch and German coastlines are surveyed until all debris related to this incident has been cleared,” the Geneva-headquartered shipping line said. Ardent Global has been appointed to coordinate the search at sea in Germany and the Netherland.
